Summary:
The work schedule for this position is:

Duties

 

Position provides administrative support to the Human Resources Office, supporting U.S. Direct Hire employees from many agencies and offices, their family members and members of household and Domestic Helpers. Prepares documents and diplomatic notes in English and Arabic; liaises with Ministry of Foreign Affairs officials to follow up and expedite requests. The incumbent will be responsible for maintaining accurate personnel accountability for all official U.S. Direct Hire staff, eligible family members, and Locally Employed Staff under Chief of Mission authority.  Serves as primary timekeeper for Mission Jordan,  trains office timekeepers throughout the Mission, communications constantly with the payroll centers in Bangkok & Charleston, as well as with the Financial Management Office/Payroll and Information Technology section at the Embassy. The individual reports directly to the Senior Human Resources Assistant for the USDH portfolio and is reviewed by the Deputy Human Resources Officer.

 

 

Qualifications and Evaluations

Requirements:
EXPERIENCE: At least 3 years of progressively responsible experience in the field of administration or Human Resources Role is required.

JOB KNOWLEDGE:

Solid understanding of a wide range of Human Resources programs and general Human Resources Management.

Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, and coordination of people and resources.  Expert knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services.  Knowledge of or ability to quickly learn (within one year of hire) how to use and refer to 3 FAM 7000 and its corresponding 3 FAH, DOS regulations, employee handbook and local compensation plan.  Understanding of the complexities of host-country government procedures in relation to diplomatic accreditation, third country nationals, and sponsorship of domestic workers. Must know correct Jordanian and American cultural customs for dealing with contacts and officials from both governments. Steadfast adherence to the highest standards of professional conduct and commitment to uphold the integrity of all aspects of personnel administration consistent with all applicable and necessary regulatory guidance.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Excellent interpersonal and communications skills and ability to coordinate and liaise with a diverse range of offices and personalities to achieve accurate program planning.  A keen aptitude to work independently and ability to solve problems after accurately interpreting regulations. Organizational and time management skills to prioritize, determine logical steps, and accomplish workload in order to meet deadlines.  Ability to accurately draft written documents using proper English.  Thorough use of Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Outlook, and Word).

COVID-19 Requirements for Eligible Family Members:
