Treasury Specialist I

Job Description

Job Objective

Process all payments related to staff, local and foreign suppliers in different currencies through Electronic Fund Transfer, Checks, Drafts and Manual Bank Transfers. Carry out disbursement of petty cash to all departments.

Primary Responsibilities

Strategic

  • Assist the Treasury Manager in preparing the strategy and the strategic initiatives for the sub-function aligned to the Financial Strategy
  • Support in monitoring, tracking and reporting performance against strategic initiatives

Financial

  • Assist the Treasury Manager in preparing the budget for the sub-function
  • Support in monitoring and tracking adherence to the approved budget
  • Process payment proposals for Staff, Local and Foreign Suppliers in a timely manner and monitor credit as to achieve maximum efficiency for Batelco’s internal requirements, banks and creditors
  • Transfer funds from all bank accounts to the primary account and reconcile cash (across Retail, Corporate & electronic Channels), bank guarantees and Letters of credit (LCs)
  • Process electronic fund transfers (EFTs) – receipts and payments, to ensure that funds are credited / debited at the agreed date
  • Carry out disbursement of petty cash to all departments and monitor adherence to the policies and procedures set by the Treasury department

Operational

  • Prepare and report weekly payment forecasts and to be incorporated in Batelco’s weekly cash flow forecast
  • Provide the weekly report of the daily collections/payments to be incorporated in the weekly cash flow
  • Work closely with the reconciliation team and assist in clearing any outstanding item prior to the closing of the accounts
  • Implement procedures and controls at each Treasury process, such that all relevant procedural / legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering a quality, cost effective service to internal and external customers
  • Ensure continuous improvement of policies, processes, systems / structural programs and procedures covering individual functional activities
  • Provide relevant information to address employee queries related to Treasury
  • Assist in providing required information to internal and external auditors People
  • Take ownership for attending the trainings as per the plan
  • Take ownership for completing PMS process, employee engagement surveys in time
  • Continuously share the knowledge and understanding of the telecom industry and business trends

Profile 1

  • Bachelors’ degree in Finance from a recognized university.
  • 3-5 years of experience in telecom finance accounting function.
  • Familiar with guidelines published by the Telecommunication Regulatory Authority.
  • Familiar with computerized programs such as MS-Windows, Excel, and Power Point.
  • English language spoken and written skills.

Optional

  • Arabic language spoken and written skills.
