Head, Draughting
PURPOSE:
• To support Draughtsman to develop, apply and communicate innovative applications of 3-D modelling and other design software.
Minimum Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
• N Dip: Engineering (Essential/Minimum)
• Cert Draughting (Essential/Minimum)
• Certificate First Line Management (Essential/Minimum)
EXPERIENCE:
3-5 years Relevant draughting and managerial experience (Essential/Minimum) Operational
REQUIREMENTS:
• Psychometric Assessment (Essential/Minimum)
• Certificate of Fitness (Essential/Minimum)
Duties & ResponsibilitiesThe incumbent will inter alia be responsible for the following:
Compliance, Governance and Assurance
• Comply with legislation within designated area
• Recognise, understand and take action to manage risks that can impact on outputs of own job and section
• Participate in development and maintenance of governance systems for best practice
• Adhere to requirements of quality management systems
Consulting and Project Services
• Adhere to Enterprise Project Management (EPM) Standards
• Ensure drawing control and archiving guidelines as specified are adhered to

Customer and Client Relationship Management
• Communicate and report to clients with regards to design and draughting
• Serve the Company and public interest by meeting key client needs through development of drawings required
Functional Excellence
• Adhere to functional policies, standards, guidelines, procedures, end- to-end processes, tools, templates etc.
• Assist in standardising, simplifying and speeding-up functional processes, eliminating duplication/bureaucracy
• Apply functional best practices, promote sharing of best practices and knowledge
Performance Management
• Support development and implementation of systems and initiatives to drive performance excellence for discipline
• Create, inspire and lead high-performance teams in discipline
• Implement successful change initiatives in discipline
• Coordinate optimal utilisation of resources for discipline
• Formal and informal mentorship of individuals, contractors or consultants as required
• Provide expert consulting to project teams and the BU
Safe and Healthy Work Environment
• Maintain and ensure a healthy environment, safe operations and practices, ensuring compliance with all applicable Safety Health and Environmental (SHE) policies and procedures in line with set standards

Technical Support
• Manage own office as well as network of service providers and ensure high quality outputs
• Responsible to ensure that all standards regarding making of drawings, reviewing, approval, indexing and archiving are met
• Ensure that all users have access to drawings
• Integrate info by continuously liaising with engineering disciplines SHE personnel
• Ensure quality control on all conceptual, basic, detail and manufacturing designs
• Ensure required design and drawing capabilities available at all times
• Maintain safety, quality, environmental integrity in terms of designs
• Ensure engineering standards, principles and practices for planning, design and implementation of engineering solutions
• Execute responsibilities in a manner that is in accordance to guidelines and standards associated with quality service delivery as required by client
• Identify and support service performance improvement opportunities associated with area of responsibility
• Initiate and drive improvements, maintaining and using drawing control system which accommodates all relevant Business Unit’s (BU)
